Vista Showcase

DEC 2012 · Website · Client: AT&T

I designed a local web app that showcases a large, curved display featured within a product education center inside AT&T's headquarters. The web app cycles through embedded "vista" apps automatically throughout the day, each taking advantage of the unique aspect ratio presented by the display.

The entire display was stitched together from four 1920x1080 outputs to create a single wide output. The unique format presented a challenge in leveraging existing content so new vista apps had to be specially designed to display properly on-screen. I definitely welcomed the challenge as the final results were always breathtaking to view in person.

To allow for easier navigation through the apps, I created a menu for the main container app that overlays on top of the currently running content when triggered. The menu allows the user to control audio and switch vistas on demand. Vista apps contained within the showcase included an app that panned through large panoramas, a full screen video player, and a live Twitter feed.

Below are some full screen stills from the panorama vista.
